Pancake Breakfast & Silent Auction

Sunday, March 1, 9:00-11:15 a.m.

Our first Jackson fundraiser will be our annual Pancake Breakfast on Sunday, March 1! We're serving up a delicious breakfast of pancakes, bacon, sausage, and fruit for the whole family! Food will be served from 9:00-10:00 a.m. and 10:45-11:15 a.m. Suggested donations are $10 for adults and $7 for kids.

Proceeds from this fundraiser will be divided based on the number of hours worked by students and their family members. Parents and siblings can work with their students to help them raise more shares of the proceeds. Anyone interested in working can sign up for one or more one-hour shifts:

  • 7:15–8:15 a.m.

  • 8:15–9:15 a.m.

  • 9:15–10:15 a.m.

  • 10:15–11:15 a.m. (clean-up and cooking between serving times)

  • 11:15 a.m.-12:15 p.m. (clean-up — parents only)

BV Students will purchase all the food and supplies (rather than asking for donations) so we have the right quantities of everything we need. If you’re able to help us buy food and/or supplies at a discount, contact Kyle to make arrangements.

If you have a griddle, spatula, or liquid or dry measuring cups, you may bring those to help us with cooking. Please label and bring them on Wednesday, February 25 or to the first shift on Sunday, March 1 so we can start cooking as early as possible.

Silent Auction

To go along with our Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser, we will also hold a Silent Auction where students can offer services or items for our church family to bid on. All proceeds will go directly to your student’s account. Bidding will close at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 1.

Students have two options for what they can offer in the Silent Auction:

  • Gift Basket — Put together a themed gift basket for people to bid on. You can ask for donations of items from local businesses or purchase items yourself. (If you’re asking for donations, you can give each business a donation receipt so they claim a tax write-off. Forms are available in the Student Center, or contact Kyle to get them.)

  • Services — Offer a service like 3 hours of babysitting or yard work. It would be helpful to include a picture and short bio on your bid sheet if you’re offering a service (especially something like babysitting).

Be sure to write a starting bid on your bid sheet so people will know the minimum amount you’re asking for. Have questions or need ideas? Contact Kyle.
