Lee was reared in Jackson, Mississippi, and graduated from Baylor University. Lee earned M.Div. and Ph.D. degrees from Southwestern Seminary and pastored churches in Oklahoma and Texas.  Lee's wife Peggy is a Chaplain at Cook Children's Medical Center. His son David (a Texas A&M grad) is Chief Prosecuting Attorney for the City of Arlington and is married to Elizabeth (also a Texas A&M grad). Daughter Julia (Baylor and Duke) is now back at Bear Valley. Lee is a big Texas Ranger's fan, an outdoors kind of guy (golf, tennis, hiking, mountain biking), and loves cherry Dr. Pepper from Sonic!
