Bear Valley Community Church began, January 1992. With the help of Northwood Church of Keller, we began weekend services on Easter of 1992. For seven years, six different rented facilities were used for weekend services: movie theaters, schools, and a shopping mall. Eventually it was apparent that we must have permanent facilities like we have today for effective ministry to our community to continue.
From the very start, it has been our dream to see a church that knows how to talk about things that matter in ways that everyone can understand. From the very start, most of our members and attenders did not go to church. Many were new to the Christian faith. This is still true today.
It seemed obvious that the church needed a new worship style, a new church structure and a new church schedule while still being true to the Bible.
What visitors to our campus often notice first is the genuine warmth and friendliness of our people. What they may not notice is that Bear Valley is really a gathering of many small groups.
While we continue to grow, we often remind ourselves that we exist for those who don't go to church and remain true to our founding ideal of helping you relate to God and to one another.
