Bear Valley Church

Here at Bear Valley, we want to assure you that we take precautions against illness and disease in all areas of our church campus, especially the children's areas.

  • We maintain clean facilities, including sanitizing restrooms and kitchen areas.
  • We sanitize our children's toys after each class. Each class begins with sparkling clean toys and tables.
  • Hand sanitizing wipes and tissues are available in each classroom for children and staff, along with waste receptacles.
  • We encourage staff and volunteers to stay home if they are ill.
  • Our infant room sanitizes the diapering area after each diaper change.
  • Our staff uses a new pair of gloves for each diaper change.
  • We have a special area where we can isolate a sick child if necessary until his/her parents can be notified.

You are encouraged to stay at home if you or your child exhibits the following symptoms of the H1N1 (swine flu) symptoms:

  • Fever (usually high)
  • Headache
  • Tiredness (can be extreme)
  • Cough
  • Sore throat
  • Runny or stuffy nose
  • Body aches
  • Diarrhea and vomiting (more common among children than adults)

Having these symptoms does not always mean that you have the flu. Many different illnesses, including the common cold, can have similar symptoms.

If you or your child has been diagnosed with H1N1 and have recently been to Bear Valley, please call and let us know so we can alert teachers and parents to watch for symptoms in their own families.
